Dianne M. Smith

Dianne M. Smith (Haebig), 67, entered into eternal life on Friday August 3, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born July 10, 1945, in Kenosha, the oldest child of Irene A. (Eberhardy) Haebig and the late Clarence R. "Bob" Haebig who died on June 15, 1990. Dianne attended St. Anne's Catholic School and graduated from Newman High School in 1963. After graduation, she worked at Brokaw Paper Mill until she had her children. Dianne was a stay at home mom, raising her three girls. When the girls were grown, she returned to the work force, first at Kmart in Wausau and for the last 14 years at Walmart. Dianne loved to do crossword puzzles, word search and reading, but her favorite times were spent with her three girls and six grandchildren. Dianne is survived by her three girls, Krista (Mathew) Breese, Karin (Jason) Raiten and Heidi (Jacob) Burris, six grandchildren that she loved dearly, Miranda, Jack, Hannah, Jasmine, Lila, Alan; her mother, Irene Haebig, her ten siblings, Ken Haebig, Ron (Noreen) Haebig, Ed Haebig, Tom (Joan) Haebig, Jerry (Susan) Haebig, Mary (Henry) Holm, Gail (Kent) Zak, Kurt (Carla) Haebig, Ellen (Ron) Ebeling, Charles (Ellen) Haebig, as well as her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Dianne is also survived by Victor Smith, father of her three girls. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 7, 2012 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. David Rybicki will preside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening at the Stewart Avenue funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Hamied Rezazadeh, the nurses at the Cancer Center, the staff at Aspirus Hospital and all that helped care for Dianne in her time of need. Rest in Peace, Dianne, you fought the good fight.
