Dennis A. Schreiber

Dennis Schreiber, age 77, passed away on December 23, 2025.

He was born on December 3, 1948 in Wausau, Wisconsin. Denny lived a life marked by warmth, humor, and a deep love for those around him. He was known for his inviting smile and love of life. Even at 77, he remained full of happiness and joy, continuing to share stories that brought smiles to everyone who knew him.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Frances Schreiber, sister Francine (James Strzelecki), and brother-in-law Joseph Szarkowitz.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon, daughters Lindsey Wine (Nicholas) and Nicole Duggan (Rory), five grandchildren, Liam (2009), Oliver, Lael, Ellie and Berkeley, sister Sharon Szarkowitz, sisters-in-law Joyce Stieber (John), Nancy Schulz, brothers-in-law Michael Krautkramer, David Krautkramer (Chris), Patrick Krautkramer (Annette), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dennis attended Wausau East high school and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in 1971 with a degree in Education. As an Educator, he taught social studies to junior high students and coached the wrestling and football teams, before moving on to other endeavors, partnering to open S&S Insurance in 1985, where he would remain until his retirement in 2014. Dennis was actively involved in the Red Cross, Jaycees and Elks, giving back to his community.

Denny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He took great pride in his family and found his greatest happiness in time spent with family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, Nordic skiing, biking and snowshoeing. Other interests included painting, reading, harvesting maple syrup, entertaining, and traveling. He had a way of turning everyday moments into meaningful memories. He will be missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne Parish, 700 W. Bridge St. Wausau, WI. Visitation will precede the service starting at 10 a.m.

A separate visitation service will be held between 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, WI. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
