Dennis G. Konkol

Dennis G. Konkol, 61, died Monday, June 15, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born December 25, 1953 in Wausau, son of the late Clarence and Lorraine (Langteau) Konkol. On September 11, 1972 he married Diane (Gerstel) at St. Peter Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death. Dennis drove truck and was the recipient of numerous safety awards until his retirement. He also owned and operated DK Properties which was started by his wife, Diane and continued by Dennis after her passing. Dennis enjoyed Sunday polka days and going to the annual fireworks event at the Big Blue Barn. Above all, Dennis was a devoted husband and father and cherished time spent with his family. Survivors include his children, Josh Konkol, Weston, Adam (Abby) Konkol, Wausau and Amy (Jake) Stennett, Galloway; grandchildren, Trevar, Jason, Terika, Devin, Crysta, Alyssa, Bailey, Brandy and R.J.; sister, Deanna (Jim) Godin, Elderon; brothers, Roger (Gloria) Konkol, Mongol, North Carolina, Edward (Sharon) Wilke, Rib Mountain, Rich (Sharon) Konkol, Hatley, Reg (Lois) Konkol, Hatley and Melvin (Gail) Konkol, Kronenwetter; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Diane. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 503 Schmidt Avenue, Rothschild. Rev. Richard Block will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau.
