Dennis A. Kearns

Dennis A. Kearns, Age 66, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024.

He was born March 5, 1958 in La Grange, IL, son of the late Donald and Ann (Svatos) Kearns.  On June 18, 1975, he married Shelley Hollibush at Calvary Baptist Church in Schofield, Wisconsin.

At age 12, Dennis’ family moved to Wisconsin and he was raised in the Rib Mountain area.  He attended Wausau West High School and continued his education at the Northcentral Technical College where he obtained 3 degrees in Marketing, Accounting and Computer Science.

Dennis was a very ambitious and successful businessman in his career, becoming a Chief Financial Officer for a multitude of organizations.  He worked for companies in the food manufacturing industry, the US government, the music industry, and multiple industrial organizations.  Over the last 15 years he started providing financial consulting helping a vast number of organizations with their financial management.

Dennis enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He went on many hunting trips with friends out West and several fishing trips in Canada.  He and his family would go to Colorado for skiing trips every year.  In their lifetime together, he and his wife Shelley made over 15 trips to a Jamaican resort to relax and enjoy time away.

Survivors include his wife, Shelley; two sons, Joshua (Nichole) Kearns and Benjamin Kearns; four grandchildren, Jared, Lilly, Calli and Marley; six siblings, Donny (Jenny) Kearns, Connie (Mike) Decker, Dan (Kim) Kearns, Cathy Kearns, Darry (Penny) Kearns and David Kearns; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, WI 54401.

A Celebration of Life party will proceed the visitation the next day, August 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Doepke Park, 151414 County Road N, Wausau, WI 54401.
