Dennis A. Belanger

Dennis A. Belanger 67, Wausau, died Weds. February 17, 2010 at his home, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. He was born July 15, 1942, in Wakefield, Michigan, son of the late Elmer and Elsie (VanderLeest) Belanger. On May 7, 1966, he married Patricia Dahlke in Edgar. She survives. From 1960 until 1962, he served his country in the US Navy on the USS Ticonderoga. Prior to his retirement, Dennis had been employed for 25 years at Carpet City as manager. Among his favorite pastimes were fishing and football. Survivors include his wife, Patricia, three children and four grandchildren, Steven (Lisa) Belanger, Wausau and their daughter, Bailey; Lee (Wendy) Belanger, Wausau and their daughters, Danielle and Miranda; Tracy (Kevin) Nowaczyk, Georgetown, Ken., and their daughter, Elena; siblings, Roger (Kathy) Belanger, Overland Park, Kan., Jane (Jack) Dahlke, Stratford, a sister-in-law, Carol (DuWayne) Hagen, Edgar. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Belanger. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon, Monday February 22, 2010 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Edgar. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff and nurses of Ministry Home Hospice for the care and comfort provided to Dennis and his family.
