Delphine D. Michlig
88, Marathon, died Thursday March 29, 2007 at the home of her daughter, under the care of Ministry Home Hospice.
She was born February 18, 1919, in the town of Emmet, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Semski) Nowak. On October 27, 1936, she married Frank Michlig at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. He preceded her in death March 1, 1973.
Frank and Delphine farmed in the town of Cassel, later, she had been employed at Marathon Cheese for 10 years prior to her retirement. Time spent with her family was very special to Delphine and she also enjoyed baking, gardening and playing cards. In the past, she had been a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder and their Altar Society.
Survivors include four children, Leo (Janice) Michlig, Frances (Norbert) Lang, all of Marathon, Anthony (Rosalie) Michlig, Edgar and Evelyn (Jerome) Schara, Marathon, 24 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, four siblings, Joseph Nowak, Edgar, Edwin (Delphine) Nowak, Hewitt, Michael D. (Eline) Nowak, Edgar, Mary Brzezinski, Marathon and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great great granddaughter, Isis, one brother, John Nowak and one sister, Clara Feltz.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.
