Delores Roberts-Werner
80, formerly of 627 Winton Street, Wausau, died Thursday, August 12, 2004 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Delores was born August 21, 1923 in Wausau, daughter of the late Mynard and Helen (Scutkowski)Schmitz. On December 27, 1941 she married Lloyd E. Roberts, in Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1967. On October 31, 1970 she married Arnold Werner in Mosinee. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1990.
Delores was a homemaker. Most of her adult years she was a caregiver in her own home and provided care for others in their own homes in the community. She enjoyed making quilts and rugs, spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and cooking. Delores was always the life of the party. Always known as a fun loving person Delores enjoyed many things to keep her busy. Among her favorites were the mandatory trips to the casino and refurbishing old furniture. Delores always prided herself in household interior and exterior painting and could beat the professionals "hands down". Delores will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her three sons, Lloyd W.(Carolyn) Roberts, Denver, Ind., John Roberts and David Roberts, both of Wausau, two sisters, Betty J. Mueller, Wausau, Marianne Knuth, Cudahy, one brother Romaine (Verlene)Obermeier, Milwaukee, three granddaughters, Tanya L. Busailah, Sabrina E. Sigmon and Jennifer Butters and one grandson, Daniel Roberts.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Rev. Steve Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the Sixth Street funeral home.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, along with a special thank you to RN Karen Deasy and the caring staff at Mount View Care Center for the loving care and support provided to our mother.
