Delores A. Nowacki

Delores A. Nowacki, 79, Wausau, formerly of Athens died Thursday, December 4, 2014 under the care of Interim Hospice and Palliative Care at Our House Assisted Living, Wausau. She was born July 22, 1935 in Athens, daughter of the late Reinhold and Esther (Lotzer) Heldt. On July 18, 1953 she married Lester Nowacki in Athens. He survives. Delores was a homemaker and farmed with her husband Lester in the town of Bern for many years. She enjoyed playing sheepshead, playing cribbage, fishing, traveling, cooking, baking, especially her apple squares, Sally Ann cookies and poppy seed cake and spending time with her family. Delores was a member of the American Legion and also a member of the Ladies Aide group at Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband, Lester Nowacki, Wausau, her children, Barbara (Michael) Horne, Mosinee, Roger (Laura) Nowacki, Athens, Donna (Harvey) Blaubach, Wausau, David (Cindy) Nowacki, Athens, Kathy Schreiner (Jeff), Medford, Jim Nowacki, Athens, Diane (Duane) Blaubach, Athens, Karen (Mark) Golding, Merrill and Robert Nowacki, Athens, 26 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Delores is further survived by her siblings Ray (Erika) Heldt, Mosinee, Kenny Heldt, Wausau and her sister, Audrey (Steve) Uhthoff, Delaware as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Stephanie and her siblings, Donald Heldt and Betty Dahl. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. The Rev. Jeffrey Lambrecht will officiate. Burial will be in the Athens Lutheran Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
