Delores I Kane
78, 714 Winton Street, Wausau, died Friday December 20, 2002 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
She was born November 17, 1924 in Wausau, daughter of the late Max and Mary (Basinski) Torzewski. On August 30, 1947 she married Ned Kane at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He survives.
Delores had been employed by the Federal Government and the State of Wisconsin. She was a homemaker and held several positions in retail sales. A loving, mother and grandmother, Delores also enjoyed being a homemaker and was a good cook. She also enjoyed seeing the world and had traveled extensively. She was an active volunteer for many years at St. Michael Catholic Church and was a member of their Rosary Confraternity and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388 Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Ned Kane, Wausau, two sons, Father Michael Kane PhD., Boca Raton, Florida, Richard (Dawn) Kane, Shawano, two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Samantha.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Torzewski and a sister, Evelyn Kummerow.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. Monday December 23, 2002 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Michael Kane and Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
