Delores I. Hemmrich

Delores I. Hemmrich 88, Wausau, formerly of Marathon, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Weston. She was born March 7, 1925 in Wausau, daughter of the late Emil and Ruth (Beilke) Lemke. On August 10, 1946, she married Walter B. Hemmrich in Wausau. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2003. As a young girl, Delores moved to California to pursue a career as a songwriter. She wrote many songs, but after a period of time, moved back to the Wausau area. She then met her husband, Walter, and moved to Marathon where they farmed for many years. Delores was an avid bowler and bowled on many leagues in Marathon. She also loved spending time doing crossword puzzles and had quite an impressive array of reference material. Survivors include, three sons, Ricky (Peggy) Hemmrich, Marathon, Wayne (Jain) Hemmrich, Marathon and Dale Hemmrich, West Palm Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Karen Keim, Bangor, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Hemmrich, Jessica (Matt) Merce, Kyle and Lindsay Hemmrich, Tamara and Anesia St. Clair and Tina (Michael Sr.) Reigner; and five great-grandchildren; Jordan, Lily, Harper, Michael Jr. and Michelle. Besides her parents and husband, Walter, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie and Gary. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Joel Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
