Delbert A. Wetterau

Delbert A. Wetterau, 92, Stratford, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital Marshfield. He was born June 5, 1921 in the town of Cleveland, son of the late Henry and Mary (Dix) Wetterau. On June 10, 1948 he married Verna Hager at St. John Rectory, town of Wien. She survives. For many years Delbert and his wife Verna farmed in the town of Cleveland. Delbert also worked at the Edgar Packing Co. Some of his favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, and bird watching. He also loved watching the baseball games in Fenwood and the visits he shared with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Verna Wetterau, Stratford, his children, Deb (Jerry) Lazarski, Stevens Point, Jeff (Beth) Wetterau, Plover and Tad (Kris) Wetterau, Wisconsin Rapids, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2013 at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, Edgar. The Rev. LaDonna Ekern will officiate. Entombment will be in the Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran School Pre K Endowment Fund. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is in charge of arrangements.
