Debra Ann Sulko died on Thursday, September 19, 2024. She was 70 years old.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Our Savior’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wausau, Wisconsin, with Rev. Jeffrey Mahnke officiating. The burial will take place in Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County. The visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service all at Our Savior’s Evangelical Lutheran Church

She was born on November 1, 1953, in Marshfield Wisconsin to William and Lucille Helmke. On May 7, 1977, she married Anthony Sulko. They were happily married for 47 years. Debra was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Debra graduated from Stratford High School. She worked in accounting or clerical positions at Wausau Insurance Company for 26 years, Nationwide Insurance and other small businesses.

Debra was a dedicated and diligent volunteer throughout the years at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and School, Northland Lutheran High School, Dime and Dollar Store and Girl Pioneers. She spent many fun filled trips with her husband hiking and seeing many sites. Debra spent time with family watching her children and grandchildren participating in sports and other events.

Debra is survived by her husband Anthony Sulko of Wausau WI, one son, Adam (Niki) Sulko of Kenosha, WI, daughter Laura (Jason) Pahl of Wausau, WI, daughter Sara Sulko of Eau Claire, WI, grandsons Devin Pahl, Justin Pahl, Abram Sulko, Owen Sulko, Eli Sulko, god children nephew William Helmke and niece Jaime (Matthew) Drewitz, sister-in-law Rhonda Helmke, sister-in-law Christine Krawczyk and brother-in-law David Sulko (Pon),

She was preceded in death by her mother and father Lucille and William Helmke, sister Jeanne Steinbrecher, brother Steve Helmke, brother-in-law Mark Steinbrecher, and mother and father-in-law Wilbert and Marilyn Sulko.

Memorials may be given to Our Savior Lutheran church or Northland Lutheran High School.

The family would like to thank Aspirus Cancer Center and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for their support.
