Debra J. Nowak

Debra J. Nowak 55, Edgar, died Sunday May 9, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born March 30, 1955, in Wausau, daughter of Darlene (Tesch) Rothenberger, Marathon, and the late LeRoy Rothenberger. On June 12, 1976, she married Joseph Nowak Jr. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. He preceded her in death November 24, 2004. For the past 18 years Debra had been employed at Marathon Cheese Corporation and prior to that with the former Standard Container Corporation, Edgar for several years. Among her favorite things to do were cooking, baking, taking walks, but above all, she loved the time spent with family, especially her granddaughter, Brianna. Survivors include her mother, Darlene, one daughter, Mary (Ricky) Landwehr, Stratford, two sons, Joseph Nowak III and Josh Nowak, both of Edgar, one granddaughter, Brianna, her fiance', Ron Knetter, Edgar, seven siblings, Alan (Cheryl) Rothenberger, Athens, Judy (Bill Baptist) Sulzer, Rib Mountain, Susan (Brian) Manecke and Geraldine (Kevin) Christiansen, all of Fenwood, Brian (Mary) Rothenberger, Athens, Kim (Linda) Rothenberger, Edgar, Theresa Rothenberger, Weston. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday May 13, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. Rev. Barnabas Kyea and Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Weds. from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
