David A. Zilisch
87, Kronenwetter, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Cedar Creek Assisted Living, Kronenwetter.
He was born June 20, 1920 in Wausau, son of the late Albert and Margaret (Hafeman) Zielesch. On June 28, 1941 he married Phyllis Meilahn in Dubuque, Iowa. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2005.
For many years David worked at Marathon Battery and he was also a custodian for the D.C. Everest School District. Some of his favorite past times included deer hunting , fishing, making mirrored horse collars and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren but most of all he enjoyed the horses back on the farm and the enjoyment they brought to him.
Survivors include his son Jeffery (Judy) Zilisch, Ringle, three grandchildren, Joe (Sara) Zilisch, Ringle, Jarrod (Lisa Marquardt) Zilisch, Ringle and Jamie (Mark) Jaeger, Wausau and his great grandchildren, Carrisa, Anna Jo, Abrielle Jane, Jeremy and Ryan, one brother, Weldon (Lorraine) Zilisch, Ringle.
Besides his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Delmar Zilisch.
Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2008 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Kronenwetter. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
