David R. Vogel
66, Wausau, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2011 surrounded by his family, at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.
He was born May 5, 1944 in Milwaukee. David grew up in Tomahawk and was raised by Robert and Eleanor Vogel. He attended school in Tomahawk and continued his education at North Central Technical College, Wausau, where he earned his business degree.
Throughout his life, David owned and operated businesses in the Wausau area and worked as a bartender at the Alibi Bar, Wausau.
Survivors include two sons, Trevor and Tyler Vogel, both of Wausau; his special friend, Elaine Smith, Stevens Point; and the mother of his children, ReNaye Kelly, Wausau.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Chris.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Private burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Colonial Manor for all the wonderful care and support given to David over the past six months.
