David P. Orlikowski
63, 4495 Church Road, Conover, died Monday, April 30, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
He was born April 20, 1944 son of the late Alexander and Marie (Rosner) Orlikowski. On February 14, 1968 he married Vicki Lanham at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Wuertzburg. She survives.
David worked for Hanz Construction Co. in Wausau for over 17 years. In 1994 he and Vicki moved to Conover or in David's terms "Gods Country" to enjoy the many things that the Northwood's has to offer, like the great hunting, fishing and the many forms of relaxation. Some of David's other pastimes included watching Packer games and NASCAR races but most of all he enjoyed passing down the knowledge of hunting and fishing to his children.
David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. during the Vietnam War. He took great pride in his military service serving on as many military graveside services as he could.
Survivors besides his wife Vicki Orlikowski, Conover, include his children, Tori (Kurt) Schels, Eagle River, Melinda Orlikowski, Athens, Renee (Kurt) Schreiner, Athens, April (Todd) Olson, Conover, Melissa (Tom) Lange, Pulaski and William (Sierra Johnson) Orlikowski, Conover, 11 grandchildren, his siblings, Rosie (Michael) Caliva, Port Richey, Florida, Katherine Wilson, Milwaukee, Frances (Dennis) Pecher, Shawano, Gerald Orlikowski, Gleason, Therese (Harry) Wilson-Sidhu, Las Vegas and Amalia (Stan) Lewis, Sault Ste Marie, Canada. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Wuertzburg. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the Athens funeral home.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in David's name.
