David J. Hirsch

David J. Hirsch, 49, Wausau died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born January 29, 1964 in Wausau, son of Doris (Dittmar) Madden, Merrill and the late James Hirsch. On July 10, 1999 he married Margaret "Peggy" Claussen at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2010. David worked at Footlocker in Wausau for more than nine years. He also worked at Marathon Cheese and along with his wife Peggy were the former owners of the Village Inn in Marathon. Some of David's interests included hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. David proudly served his country in the United States Army. Survivors include his two children, Brandy Moore, Weston and Tiffany Bell, Arizona, his mother, Doris (Ray) Madden, Merrill, four grandchildren, Shelby and Randy Moore and Aaliyah and Kloey Bennett, his siblings, Gary Madden, Tomahawk, Laurie (Robin) Kurth, Wausau and Barbara Howland, Wausau. David is further survived by one brother-in-law, Frank (Rebecca) Claussen, Wausau and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Nancy Russell will officiate. Friends may call on Thursday from Noon until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, is in charge of arrangements.
