David J. Denfeld

David J. Denfeld 73, Merrill, died Monday, August 25, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born April 1, 1935 in Wausau, son of the late James and Dorothy (Egner) Denfeld. On November 26, 1955 he married Janice Emenecker at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. She survives. David worked at American Can and also farmed in the Marathon area for many years. He enjoyed watching the Packers, NASCAR and listening to Willie Nelson music. Some of his pastimes included fishing, making home repairs and renovations and most of all spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Janice, Merrill; children, Scott (Eileen) Denfeld, Wausau, Carmen Siegel, Schofield, Lisa (Steve) Hansen, Racine and Doug (Michelle) Denfeld, Marathon; grandchildren, Shanna, Cati, Jason (Kara), Brent, Nick, Jackie, Billy, Alex and Ashley; great grandchildren, Ella and Anna; siblings, Patricia (Ken) Schneck, Mesa, Ariz., James (Patricia) Denfeld, Portage, Ind., Elaine (Tony) Adams, Schofield and Ron (Colette) Denfeld, Longview, Tex.; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the funeral home.
