David "Bahama" Berens

David "Bahama" C. Berens, 63, Edgar, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born March 1, 1951 in Wausau, son of Florence (Bantes) Berens and the late Clarence Berens. On October 25, 1980 he married Linda Wagner in Wausau. She survives. David worked as a plumber and electrician for Berg Sales and was a member of the Edgar Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Linda Berens, Edgar; son, Thomas (Cindy) Berens, Wausau; granddaughter, Maya; his dog, Bandit; his mother, Florence Berens, Edgar; brothers, Russell (Joanne), Jeff (Crystal) Berens, all of Edgar and Gene Berens, Medford, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two aunts, Tootie Szymanski and Roseann Bantes. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Friends may call Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar, and again on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
