Daphne Stolze

Daphne Stolze, 90, Wausau, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Wausau Manor, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

She was born October 4, 1934 in Wausau, daughter of the late Homer and Norma (Broeker) Porter. On August 16, 1958, she married Karl W. Stolze at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Wausau. He survives.

Daphne worked for J.C. Penney in Wausau and later worked in customer service for Durkee Insurance.

She was Mark’s Cub Scout Leader, belonged to book clubs and also enjoyed cross country skiing, snowshoeing, biking, and traveling with Karl to Hawaii, Alaska, Austria, Germany and New York to attend the theatre. She was a member of the Red Hats Wausau Chapter and was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Karl; four sons, Mark (Donna), Alan, Kurt (Sandy) and David (Sandy); seven grandchildren, Kristine (Bill) Bollfrass, Thomas (Kayleigh), Travis (Becky), Austin, Madison (Skylor) Vance, Alexandra and Olivia; five great-grandchildren, Autumn, Blake, Brooklyn, Hudson and Libby; one brother, Ross (Donna Jean) Porter; and one sister-in-law, Karen Porter.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Porter.

Per Daphne’s wishes, private family services will be held.
