Daniel ''Jumbo'' Ostrowski

Daniel "Jumbo" Ostrowski 68, Wittenberg, died Friday February 22, 2002 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born July 18, 1933 in the town of Reid, son of the late Peter and Matilda (Letarski) Ostrowski. Daniel farmed with his parents in rural Hatley and was a plumbers helper. He had also been employed at Marathon Electric Corporation, Wausau. Special thanks to Eddie Nievinski for being a great friend to Jumbo through the years. Jumbo will be remembered for his story telling and endless jokes. Survivors include two sisters, Esther (Wallace) Brzezinski, Ringle and Joyce (Jerry) Gagas, Amherst Junction, two brothers, Robert (Elizabeth) Ostrowski, Hawaii, Ron Ostrowski, Birnamwood and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Ostrowski and a sister, Doris Szutkowski. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday February 25, 2002 at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. Rev. Thomas Abraham will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
