Dale D. Wendorf, 94, Marathon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at the Meadows of Marathon, under the care of Heartland Hospice.
He was born March 30, 1931 in Milwaukee and raised in Butler, WI, son of the late Leo and Elinor (Springer) Wendorf. Dale met Ann Kujawa at a Valentine’s Day dance and were married on February 27, 1954 in Wausau. She preceded him in death on February 11, 2012.
Dale was a semi driver for Fore Way Express for 30 years until his retirement. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed fishing at the cottage up north and fishing in Canada, making maple syrup with his son, David, watching old time TV shows and doing jigsaw puzzles. Dale would like to be remembered for being able to fix anything.
Survivors include four children, Carol Wendorf, St. Petersburg, FL, Paula (Eugene) Heil, Marathon, David (Karen) Wendorf, Wausau and Laura Wendorf, St. Petersburg, FL; son-in-law, Joseph Kauzlaric, Wausau; seven grandchildren, Joseph (Martha) Wendorf, John Wendorf, Rebecca (Andrew) Lang, Kathryn (Chris) Frisch, Scott (Tera) Kauzlaric, Ryan (Katie) Kauzlaric and Daniel Kauzlaric. Dale is further survived by great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and wife, Ann, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Eloise Kauzlaric; and his sister, Delores Weinke.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue in Wausau. There will be a time of sharing at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Mosinee.
