Dale L. Romanowski, 71, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee.
He was born January 18, 1951 in Wausau, son of the late John and Alice (Hower) Romanowski.
Dale started working for Marathon Electric (now Regal Beloit) at 19 years old, advancing his entire career at the company until retirement.
He was passionate about canoeing and his time spent in the Canadian back country with family and friends. His creativity was endless including wood and metal working skills allowing him to create beautiful knifes, bows and leather crafts. He also enjoyed hunting, traveling and family gatherings.
Survivors include his children, Scott (Carrie) Romanowski, Heather (Rob) Collins and Lori Romanowski; grandchildren, Shane Romanowski, Kayleigh Gahagan, Hazel, Mabel and Emmett Collins, Isabelle and Ella Krahn; siblings, Lois (Kevin) Long, Chuck (Beverly) Romanowski, Lance (Tracey) Romanowski, Gary (Shari) Romanowski, Jack (Lois) Romanowski and Pete (Peggy) Romanowski; and many nieces and nephews including Matthew (Samantha) Groshek.
Dale will also be greatly missed by many lifelong friends made from work and volunteering. He loved being a part of the community including volunteering with Kiwanis and Boys and Girls Club.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy (John) Radloff.
Memorial services will be Noon on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau. Visitation will be Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau, and again on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
