Dale Albrecht, age 66, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s disease. Dale was born in Wausau, Wisconsin to Henry and Beverly Albrecht, and graduated from Wausau West High School in 1978. He grew up with a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and the outdoors—values that shaped his entire life.
Dale devoted 40 years to M & J Marine, where he was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and steady presence. Outside of work, he found joy in woodworking, creating pieces that reflected patience, skill, and pride. He also loved fishing and spending time on the water, where he felt most at peace.
Dale shared 29 years of marriage with his wife, Gwen, with whom he enjoyed traveling and making memories that remained dear to him. One of his favorite adventures was witnessing hundreds of bald eagles along the Mississippi River during the winter—an experience he treasured.
Dale is survived by his brothers Dennis (Linda) Albrecht and Dean (Jenny) Albrecht. He was a proud uncle to April (Russ) Knap, Arron (Malena) Albrecht, Amber (Ric) Meadows, Nicky (Matt) Kuecker, and Stephanie Albrecht (Patrick Stevens). He is also survived by his sister-in-law Chris Marthaler (Steve) and brother-in-law Bob Marthaler (Diana), along with a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Beverly Albrecht and his wife, Gwen.
Dale’s family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff at Primrose Memory Care in Weston and Moments Hospice for their dedicated and compassionate care. Dale will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
