Curtis W. Lemirand

Curtis W. Lemirand 59, Rothschild, died Thursday July 10, 2008 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston. He was born December 27, 1948, in Green Bay, son of the late Louis and Elaine (Curtis) Lemirand. On February 14, 1986, he married his forever love, Mary Zastrow at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Rothschild. She survives. He was a veteran of the US Army serving as a Sargent during the Viet Nam War. For the past 35 years, Curtis had been employed with Green Bay Packaging in Green Bay, Monroe and Wausau. Among his many activities, Curtis was a member of the Moose Lodge, was actively involved with the Rothschild Police Department after completion of the Citizens Police Academy and was a volunteer with Special Olympics. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family as well as his special St. Bernard, Ask-her Lynn. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lemirand, Rothschild, two children, Tom (Lisa) Lemirand, Green Bay, Terri (Jason) Dorshak, Weston, one grandson, Benjamin Lemirand, Green Bay, one brother, Major Ronald (Major Carol) Lemirand, St. Joseph, Missouri, one sister-in-law, Mary (Jim) Ness, Green Bay, one brother-in-law, Richard (Joan) Zastrow, Bettendorf, Iowa, nieces and nephews, Dawn, Erin, Wanda, Eric, Brandon, Lee, Brent, Brad as well as many other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Harold Laubenstein, two brothers, Lee and Lowell Lemirand and a grandson, Mitchell Lemirand. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 15, 2008 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Rothschild. Rev. Richard Block will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Friends may call on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
