Crystal "Chris" M. Pasnecker

December 29, 1958 — January 16, 2025

Crystal “Chris” M. Pasnecker, age 66, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 16, 2025, at Aspirus Hospital, Wausau. Chris was born on December 29, 1958, in Wausau, WI, daughter of James Landrath and Patricia (Genrich) Krueger. In 1977, Chris graduated from Wausau West High School. This is where she met a shy but charming, tall, blue-eyed, blonde guy named Charlie and the high school sweethearts were married on November 5, 1977, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Wausau. They just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Charlie was the love of her life ♥.

Chris enjoyed various careers in retail, manufacturing, and food service through the years but being a Mom and Grandma were her greatest jobs. She loved her family with all her heart. Their adventures together were always special. They were always planning their next road trip, movie to watch, or place to eat. She enjoyed watching her grandkids activities including concerts, dance recitals, football, baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer. She was always their biggest fan!

Chris loved cooking and baking for her family. Her lasagna: Italian and Chocolate, her famous stuffing, a delicious grilled cheese, mac and cheese, and a pistachio cake were some of her family’s favorites.

She could not wait for their time at their permanent campsite to enjoy a campfire and visit with friends. They just started UTV-ing and she loved those adventures, too! She enjoyed watching Game Show Network, Wheel of Fortune, puzzles, coloring, board games, and cards. Trying a new restaurant and going out for a fish fry on a Wednesday or Friday were favorite past times. In her young years, she enjoyed pool league.  Let’s not forget about THE PACKERS! Her special four-legged fur babies, Timmy and Zoey, were always by her side. And that Rooster Collection, always looking to add a new one to her lineup.

Crocheting was an amazing talent she had. Her creativeness made beautiful blankets and hats that were shared with many families and friends.

Chris is survived by her husband, Charles “Charlie” Pasnecker Jr. Their son, Charles “Chuck” (Samantha) Pasnecker III, and his children, Andrew “AJ” (Haley), Charles “Charlie” IV, and Mason. Their daughter, Carrie (Steve) Krantz and their children, Caitlin (Mason) and Christopher “Bubba.” Sisters, Stacey (Ben) and Becky (Terry). Sisters-in-Law, Marcia, Rose (Robin) and Julie. Uncle Denny (Carla) and aunts, Beverly, Anne, Mary, and Carol. She also is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Andrew; her parents; her in-laws, Charles Sr and Shirley Pasnecker; brother, Steve Landrath; sister-in-law, Mary Krueger; and brothers-in-law, Doug Krueger, Mike Niewolny, and Al Pasnecker. Her incredibly special Aunt Fran “Frani” Landrath; Uncles, Darrell, Vernon, Eugene, and Russ Landrath; and adopted parents, Lloyd and Nancy Dickinson.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus, Benedictine, and UW Health-Madison for their care and compassion. Chris endured so much but shined through her journey.
