Cornelia "Connie" Wambold, 90, Merrill, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.
She was born May 3, 1914 in Oshkosh, daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Allen) Lloyd. On December 17, 1934, she married Edward Wambold in Waukegan, Ill. He preceded her in death.
Connie was one of the original members of the Indianhead ladies golf league, and was very active in raising funds for the golf course and clubhouse.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte (Dr. Donald) Nowinski, Waunakee, Wis.; and a son, Edward (Carol) Wambold, Rhinelander; five grandchildren, Dr. Donald (Christin) Nowinski, Jr, Thomas (Jennifer) Nowinski, Alan (Heather) Wambold, Wayne (Jennifer) Wambold, John (Andrea) Wambold; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Louis (Donna) Lloyd, Ripon and Kenneth Lloyd, Akron, Ohio; one sister, Thelma (Dale) LeBeck, Bradenton, Fla.; one sister in law, Esther Toll, Phoenix, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward and four brothers.
A private memorial service for Connie will be held at the Bell Tower Chapel at a later date. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
