Constance M. Thoma

Constance M. "Connie" Thoma 60, Hatley died Monday, June 22, 2009 at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 30, 1948 in Wausau, daughter of Robert Kasmerchak, Wausau and the late Lucy (Gleason) Kasmerchak. On June 13, 1981 she married Thomas O. Thoma in Wausau. He survives. Connie was weigh master at Anderson Bros. & Johnson, in Wausau and had been co owner of the former T Mart in Wausau. Connie enjoyed gardening, baking, playing cards and taking trips to the casino, but the highlight of her life was being a grandmother. Survivors besides her father, Robert Kasmerchak, Wausau and her husband, Thomas O. Thoma include her children, Tim (Julie) Thoma, and their children, Zach and Zoe, Victoria, Minnesota, Scott (Stephanie) Thoma, and their children, Abby and Sam, Mound, Minnesota, Tammy (Brent Seager) Thoma, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Thomas B. (Ruby) Thoma, and their children, Jake and Justin, Wausau, Jeff (Michelle) Hahn and their children, Adam and Emily, Gurnee, Illinois, Steve (Nichol) Thoma and their children, Gracie, Isabelle and Ella, Shakopee, Minnesota and Josh (Kim Stevens) Hahn, and their children, LeAndra and Casey, Schofield. Connie is further survived by her siblings, Candace (John) Hanz, Wausau, Cynthia (Dan) Malak, Rockwall, Texas, Cheryl Olig, Wausau, Joseph (Debbie) Kasmerchak, Wausau, John (Donna) Kasmerchak, Rothschild, Jay (Kay) Kasmerchak, Wauwautosa, James (Jill Ozanick) Kasmerchak, Milwaukee, Carla (Rick Cywinski) Kasmerchak, Mosinee, Tina (Sheldon) Baumann, Wausau and also many nieces and nephews. Besides her mother Lucy she was preceded in death by one sister, Katherine. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Christ Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. David L. Wetmore will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church.
