Connie L. Meurett

Connie L. Meurett 49, Weston, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012, surrounded by family and friends at Ministry Saint Claire's Hospital, Weston. She was born July 15, 1962 in Wausau, daughter of Gerald "Bud" and Shirley (Schulz) Kieckhaefer of Wausau. On September 1, 1984, she married Dean Meurett in Wausau. He survives. Forever a woman of action, Connie spent the majority of her life doing what she loved; hiking, biking, kayaking, gardening, knitting, reading and environmentalism. Connie taught in the Wausau School District for 29 years. For 27 of those years, she taught at Lincoln Elementary School, where she poured her heart and soul into bettering the lives of her students both in and out of the classroom. Her tireless efforts won her the respect and recognition of her colleagues and students families alike. Connie is survived in death by her devoted husband, Dean, and her two children, Molly Meurett and Jacob (Samantha) Meurett. As a family they enjoyed weekends at the family cabin, family vacations spanning over all parts of the country, and invaluable time spent sitting around the house together. Connie leaves behind countless friends, her parents, two siblings, Debbie (Christophe) Gattegno, Denver, Colo. and Joel (Marcie) Kieckhaefer, Milwaukee, and a community of those touched by her passion for life and her ability to love. Memorial services will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, Rib Mountain. Rev. John Roseth will officiate. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
