Clyde L. Siegel
83, Wausau, died Thursday February 22, 2007 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilition Center, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born December 8, 1923, in Gillett, son of the late Henry and Esther (Krueger) Siegel. On October 18, 1947, he married Florence Letarski in Hatley. She preceded him in death October 11, 1979. He married Lois Schiebe on January 22, 1982 in Wausau. She died May 26, 1986.
Clyde served his country in the US Air Force with the 351st Bomb Group, 8th Air Force, Polebrook, England from May 1943 until June 1945. Always proud of his military involvement, Clyde was a Life Member and Past Post Commander of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Burns Post No. 388, Wausau. During his tenure as Post Commander, he received recognition honoring his achievement of 100% membership for the Post. He was a member of the Last Man's Club, the Battle of the Bulge and the Honor Guard.
Prior to his retirement, Clyde had been employed at Drott/JI Case for many years.
Survivors include his children, Duane (Linda) Siegel, Craig (Diana) Siegel and Susan (Kim) Schoessow, all of Wausau, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Lois Siegel and Elaine Siegel, all of Milwaukee, nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eldred and Norton.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday February 26, 2007 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, where full Military Honors will be conducted by members of the VFW Honor Guard. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a VFW Memorial Service at 3:45 p.m. Sunday at the Sixth Street funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the entire staff of Colonial Manor, Drake Hall and special thanks to his good friend, Annette.
