Clifford M. Gerber 89, Tomahawk, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born August 12, 1919, in Lake Geneva, son of the late Ernest and Jenny (Vorpagel) Gerber. Prior to his retirement Clifford had been employed as a tool and die maker at Trostels in Lake Geneva. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army. Survivors include two children, Chris (Tom) Schinke, Eden Prairie, Minn., Casey (Michele) Gerber, Jacksonville, Fla., seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one brother, Doug (Gwen) Gerber, Lake Geneva, several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Judy Ebert, Shawano. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald Gerber and a brother, Glydie Gerber. A memorial service was held in McFarland. In leiu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Lincoln County Humane Society, 200 N. Memorial Drive, Merrill, WI 54452.
