Clarence "Clancy" Sliwicki 70, Wausau, died Sunday July 8, 2007 at his home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born May 25, 1937, in the town of Reid, son of the late Michael and Anna (Goretski) Sliwicki. On May 28, 1960, he married Carol Novak at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. She survives. Clarence was a member of the National Guard. For 35 years, he had been employed at the former James River Corporation, Wausau, retiring in 1992 due to complications from his long bout with Parkinson's Disease. Positive attitude was a trademark for Clarence as he enjoyed bowling, fishing and trips to Las Vegas. He will be fondly remembered for the best Potato Pancakes around and his buddy Sparky's devotion to him. Proud of his 1939 Chev, Clarence was a member of the Antique Car Club and in the past had been a member of the Auxiliary Police and Monty's Drum and Bugle Corps. A longtime member of The Church of St. Anne, Clarence was an usher there for over 20 years and was affectionately referred to as "King Clarence" by former pastor, Father Bob, for being the top ticket seller at their Polka Fest for many years. Clarence remained a devoted, faithful fan of the Packers as well as the Brewers and also enjoyed watching the deer eating at the feeder outside of his home. Survivors include his wife, Carol, three sons, David (Pam Lulich) Sliwicki, Tim (Julie Friedrich) Sliwicki and Rick Sliwicki, all of Wausau, two grandsons, Luke and Cody, siblings, Ben (Ceil) Sliwicki, Gleason, Jack Sliwicki, Aniwa, Delores (Richard) Ringwelski, Wausau, Floyd (Judy) Sliwicki, Mosinee, Beverly (Tom) Goetsch, Wausau, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
