Clarence A. Niewolny
83, 3103 Hubbill Ave., Wausau, died Friday October 29, 2004 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born November 13, 1920 in Athens, son of the late Fred and Rose (Klawinski) Niewolny. On April 10, 1948 he married Ethel Schultheiss in Milan. She survives.
For 32 years, Clarence had been employed at the former James River Corp., Wausau. He was a veteran of the US Army and had been an active member of the American Legion Alois Dreikosen Post No. 469, Marathon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Niewolny, Wausau, children, Perry (Ann) Niewolny, Manitowoc, Bonnie Niewolny, Wausau and Debra Callahan, Wausau; grandchildren, Jennifer, Shannon and Sean Callahan, all of Wausau, Lisa (Mort) Newcomb, Oshkosh, Jon (Kelly) Niewolny, Waukegan, Ill., brothers, Walter (Imogene) Niewolny and George (Pat) Niewolny, all of Wausau, sisters, Theresa Maier, Wausau, Margaret Kremsreiter, Abbotsford, Delores Westfall, Hamburg, Gloria Tagliaferri, Mishawaka, Ind., and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, John and Irvin Niewolny and two sisters, Sophia Frahm and Merceda Zawacki.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday November 2, 2004 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Entombment will be in the Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening followed by an American Legion Memorial service at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
