Clarence A. Lenhard

Clarence A. Lenhard, 82, 309 Munes Street, Athens, died Thursday, October 16, 2003 at his home surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer. He was born May 6, 1921 in the town of Rietbrock son of the late Otto and Ida (Rosner) Lenhard. On August 8, 1942 he married Clara Bangart at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rozellville. She survives. The couple farmed in the town of Halsey until six years ago when they moved to Athens. Clarence was a cattle hauler with his brother, George and his Dad, and was assessor for the town of Halsey. He was a life long member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was always proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Clara Lenhard, Athens, three sons, Dwight (Anne) Lenhard, Athens, Tim (Mary) Lenhard, Marathon, Darryl (Patricia) Lenhard, Medford; four daughters, Beverly (Arlyn) Stencil, Edgar, Terry (Joe) Burger, Marshfield, Jennifer (Francis) Skrzypchak, Wausau, Cynthia (Steve) Riehle, Marathon; 21 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one brother, George (Merceda) Lenhard, Athens; and three sisters, Dolores Lang, Marathon, Marian (James) Braun, Wausau, and Rita Schultz, Wausau. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, and two brothers-in-law. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2003 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Rev. Charles Heibl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish prayer service 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Athens funeral home. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, David Stencil, Nathan Burger, Steve Burger, Zach Lenhard, Jason Lenhard and Brian Skrzypchak. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Ministry Home Care, Marshfield or the charity of your choice.
