Clarence Hemmrich, 86, Wausau, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Colonial Manor, Wausau.
He was born December 28, 1930 in town of Emmett, son of the late Henry and Henrietta (Gresens) Hemmrich. On June 2, 1964 he married Joyce Buchberger in Pine City, Minn. She preceded him in death on July 6, 2003.
Clarence served his country during the Korean conflict with the 720 MP Battalion. He worked in the building trade before and after his military service, having worked for Marathon Millwork, Wausau Homes, Kolbe and Kolbe and a number of small contractors. He had a love for vintage cars, dogs and in his younger years was known to play pranks on his brother.
Survivors include two sisters, Lydia Ahrens and Clara Cichon; sister-in-law, Judy Brennan; nieces and nephews, Karen (Russ) Schleicher, Pam (Tom) Leduc, Debbie Fecteau, Todd (Vickie) Cichon, Robin Cichon and Jeff (Lynelle) Cichon.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Delores (Don) Leffel and a brother, Walter Hemmrich, brothers-in-law, Elmer Ahrens, Ervin Cichon, Arvin (Mary Ann) Buchberger and Wallace (Margie) Buchberger, sister-in-law, Janet (Robert) Cyzan and a nephew, Dale Ahrens.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, Marathon. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service all at the church.
