Clarence "Red" Burclaff, 75, formerly of Gowan Street, Wausau, died Monday May 24, 2004 at Hospice House, Wausau.
He was born July 7, 1928 in Wausau son of the late Anton and Anastasia (Frydach) Burclaff. On June 12, 1948 he married Isabelle Landowski at St Florian Catholic Church in Hatley. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2003.
Clarence worked in the maintenance department for the former St. Mary Hospital and Wausau Hospital North and retired from Weyerhauser, Rothschild. He enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening. Clarence was a Reserve Deputy for the Marathon County Sheriff's Department.
Survivors include seven children, Kathy (Bob) Shorey, Bowler, Ron (Barb) Burclaff, Merrill, Cindi (John David) Parker, Wausau, Eunice Burclaff, Columbus, Ohio, Mark (Phyllis) Burclaff, Wausau, Sue (Paul) Glodowski, Stevens Point, and Michelle (Ken) Schneider, Wausau; 15 grandchildren, five step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Loos, Wausau, and Irene Ewert, Marathon. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Isabelle Burclaff, and a brother Arnold Burclaff.
Thr funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Thursday May 27, 2004 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in the Holy Angels Mausoleum, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to St. Michael Parish or Hospice House.
