Clara Stencil

Clara Stencil, 89, 3841 CTH N, Marathon, died Sunday June 15, 2003 at Marywood Convalescent Center, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born August 11, 1913 in the town of Cassel, daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Pospychalla) Wieloch. On July 8, 1930 she married Thomas Stencil at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. He preceded her in death August 11, 1997. Clara and Tom farmed in the town of Cassel. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel and also served the parish as custodian for 31 years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening but especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include two daughters, Celia (Edward) Loskot, Waupaca, Marcella (Tony) Kettell, Twin Lakes, one son, LaVern (Joan) Stencil, Marathon, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, John, Mike, Ed, Joe and Felix Wieloch, two sisters, Balbina Zemski and Lucy Stencil. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Weds. June 18, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Weds. from 9:00 a.m.until the time of services at the church. There will be a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Marathon funeral home.
