Clara Kostroski

June 13, 1909 — March 30, 2003

Clara Kostroski 93, Wausau, passed away Sunday March 30, 2003 at Marywood Convalescent Center, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born June 13, 1909 in the town of Maine, daughter of the late Emil and Florentine Schulz. On June 21, 1930 she married Damon Kostroski. He preceded her in death August 20, 1982. Together they had five children, June (Harvey) Andersen, Thornton, Illinois, Gerald (Kathryn) Kostroski and Kenneth (Patsy) Kostroski, all of Rib Mountain, Sharon Moore and Arleigh Kostroski, both of Milwaukee. Clara has 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are two special friends from grade school, Evelyn Krueger and Dorothy Tapper. Besides her husband and parents, Clara was preceded in death by one grandson, David Andersen, one sister and two brothers. She loved to crochet, knit and make quilts. Her families all enjoy the thousands of snowflakes she crocheted for their Christmas trees. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday April 2, 2003 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wausau. Rev. Vernon Dolde will officiate and burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
