Clara A. Jansen, 81, 2285 Springbrook Road, Mosinee died Thursday, October 6, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield.
She was born April 4, 1924 in Mosinee to the late Albert and Stella (Blaszak) Zawislan. After graduation from Mosinee High School, Clara worked in Wausau and Milwaukee in factory settings. On June 16, 1945, she married Norbert A. Jansen at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2005.
Clara and Norbert operated a dairy farm between Mosinee and Marathon until 1976, then became ginseng root and seed growers. Clara and Norbert were also members of the Gem and Mineral Society, Wausau. Among her favorite things to do were gardening, raising roses and winter canning. Clara taught her children about hard work, persistence and the importance of living by a set of values.
Survivors include a son, Mark A. (Michaelene) Jansen, Eau Claire, and their children Keil and Kirk Jansen and Paul and Brian Mirr; a daughter Beth (Bruce) Jansen-Bonde, Woodbury, Minn. and their children Collin and Andria Bonde; a son-in-law James S. Haney, Madison and his children Eric T. Nelson and Peter J. Haney; four sisters, Leona Carr, Marathon, Berniece Szymanski, Phoenix, Ariz., Helen Dryfka and Angie Zawislan, both of Mosinee.
Besides her husband and parents; Clara was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Jansen and daughter, Ann Jansen-Haney along with four brothers and three sisters.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon, Saturday, October 8, 2005 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation, Inc., P.O.
