Claire ''Til'' Reed

Claire "Til" Reed 85, Edgar, died Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at the House of Dove, Marshfield She was born May 30, 1916 in the Town of Frankfort, daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Goldbach) Wirkus. On May 30, 1942, she married John Reed at St. Louise Catholic Church in Chicago. He survives. Til attended St. John School, Edgar and St. Maria Academy, Stevens Point. She worked many years at Cog Hill, Lamont, Il until moving to Edgar in 1977. Til enjoyed traveling, playing cards, growing beautiful plants and flowers, gardening and casino visits. Survivors, besides her husband of 61 years, John Reed, Edgar include 2 sisters, Joan (Peter) Pettinger, Glenview, IL and Vangie Wilichowski, Edgar; 5 brothers, Ed (Clara) Wirkus, Jerry (Alvina) Wirkus, Philip (Beatrice) Wirkus and Lawrence (Joan) Wirkus all of Edgar and Mel (Shirley) Wirkus, Clinton; 1 sister-in-law, Rita Donnelly and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 sister, Marge and 1 brother, David. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2002 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Bernard Raschke will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Catholic School, Edgar. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is in charge of arrangements.
