Clair A. Stahel
63, 308 Pine Street, Marathon died Monday, March 31, 2008 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born August 12, 1944 in Wausau, daughter of the late Clive and Grace (Woitkovich) Weiland. On October 16, 1965 she married Melvin Stahel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. He survives.
Clair was a homemaker and also worked at Major Industries in Wausau. Some of her favorite pastimes included playing cards, knitting, embroidering, crocheting and doing word search books.
Survivors besides her husband Melvin Stahel, Marathon include her children, Sarah (Larry) Galassi, Holland, Mich., Maria (Mike) Hornick, Grand Rapids, Mich., Leon Stahel and Daniel Stahel, both of Marathon, seven grandchildren and one half-sister, Sandra Brunn, Marathon and two nieces.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
