Chester "Chet" Wiater
57, 8219 County Road A, Wausau died Friday, June 15, 2007 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston.
He was born July 20, 1949 in Chicago, son of the late Frank and Charlotte (Stus) Wiater. On January 22, 1972 he married Susan Fravert at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. She survives.
For over 20 years Chet perfected his construction career at Wick Building Systems in Spencer. Following his employment there he became the owner/operator of 3C's Construction, Wausau and also worked part-time for Dunham Express Corp. through Diversified since December. Some of Chet's favorite pastimes included fishing, playing cards, gardening, crossword puzzles and taking an occasional trip to the casino.
Chet proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors besides his wife Susan Wiater, Wausau include his children, Charity (John) Anderson, Bowler, Clint Wiater, Green Bay, one granddaughter, Kathleen Anderson, Bowler, his siblings, Eugene (Bonnie) Wiater, Buffalo City, Cyril Wiater, Withee, Tony Wiater, Whitehall, Caroline Palms, Neillsville, Mary Ann Ormond, Marshfield, Patricia Wiater, Oshkosh, one sister-in-law, Ruth Fravert, Loyal and one brother-in-law, Fred (Mary) Fravert, Merrill along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and George and two sisters, Christine and Frances.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. The Rev. Ronald Winter will officiate. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
