Chester Gliniecki

Chester Gliniecki 79, Weston passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, November 9, 2008. He was born June 1, 1929 in Rosholt, son of the late Edward and Helen (Gilmeister) Gliniecki. On May 5, 1956 he married Evelyn Klee in Spalding, Michigan. She survives. Chet was employed at Marathon Electric from 1954 until his retirement in 1991. As a devoted husband, caring father and loving grandfather, Chet always enjoyed being in the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, and camping in his earlier years, but he loved tending to his garden throughout his life. He enjoyed travel as well, whether it was a bus tour to another part of the country or a simple afternoon trip to Bowler. A loyal Packer fan, he could always be found watching his favorite team on a Sunday afternoon. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Evelyn Gliniecki, Weston, his five children, Michael (Donna) Gliniecki, Mosinee, Randolph (Bonnie) Gliniecki, Wausau, Ronald Gliniecki, Mosinee, Deborah (Guy) Bemowski, Schofield and Lori Gliniecki, Rothschild, seven grandchildren, Daniel, Timothy and Jessica Gliniecki, Mosinee, Tyler Gliniecki, Wausau, Joshua, Angela and Jacob Bemowski, Schofield, four sisters, Anne Gliniecki, Hatley, Eleanor (Henry) Schroedel, Minocqua, Dorothy (Clark) Barry, Weston and Irene (Warren) Wagberg, Stephenson, Michigan, one sister-in-law, Agnes Gliniecki, Mosinee and many other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin Gliniecki. The funeral mass will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Rev. Janusz Kowalski will preside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Wednesday from Noon until the time of services at the church.
