Cheryl A. Mijal

May 10, 1952 — October 11, 2012

Cheryl "Sherry" Ann Mijal Good people leave big holes in others' lives when they pass. Sherry was truly one of those good people. Sherry always had a smile and greeting for others and could make new friends in under a minute with her warm, outgoing, vivacious personality. She drew people to her like a moth to a flame. But, Sherry always made time for family because family always came first in her mind. She loved the time she spent being a grandmother (Nina) to her only grandson Logan. Working for Kolbe & Kolbe for more than 30 years, starting in the plant, Sherry advanced to Senior Buyer. Some of her favorite pastimes included volunteering with the Rolling Stone Lake Association and the Pickerel/Pearson ATV Club. She also enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, the Green Bay Packers, spending time at the cottage and taking an occasional trip to the casino. Sherry died unexpectantly Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born May 10, 1952 in Wausau, daughter of the late George and Aileen (Rhyner) Ketchum. On July 28, 1973 she married Gerald "Jerry" Mijal at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Mijal, Wausau, her mother-in-law, Rose Ann Mijal, Wausau, two children, Tammy Mijal, DePere and Joshua Mijal, Wausau, her grandson, Logan Seedorf, DePere, her siblings, Merlin (Erlene) Ketchum, Weston, Marguerite (Peggy) Henrichs, Rock Hill, South Carolina, Grant (Debra) Ketchum, Wausau, Myles (Shelley) Ketchum, Mosinee and Laura (Ahmet Ciftci) Ketchum-Ciftci, Plover. Sherry is further survived by her in-laws, Denny (Sue) Mijal, Wausau, Scott (Dawn) Mijal, Wausau and JoAnne (Kim White) Mijal-White, Madison along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Joe Mijal.
