Charles L. Sicklinger, 64, Marathon, died Tuesday November 27, 2012, at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston.
He was born August 10, 1948, in Wausau, son of Sophia (Sendzik) Sicklinger, Marathon and the late Fred J. Sicklinger.
Prior to his retirement, Charles had been employed for many years at Marathon Cheese. He enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Braves. For several years, Charles participated in the annual "Epilepsy Walk" at Marathon Park in Wausau.
Chuck was a wonderful son and caregiver for his mother, Sophia. Working together and focusing on each other's strengths, they were an awesome compliment to one another.
Survivors include his mother, Sophia Sicklinger, Marathon, four sisters, Shirley (Sonny) Lins, Green Bay, Alice (David) Tylinski, Joyce (Dale J.) Braunel and Donna Dallman, all of Marathon, a sister-in-law, Temberlee (John) Newcomer, Florida, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his father, Charles was preceded in death by one brother, Fred A. "Butch" Sicklinger.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Saturday December 1, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Monsignor Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
