Charles F. Riehle Sr

Charles F. Riehle Sr. 88, Wausau, died Saturday January 29, 2005 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. He was born September 13, 1916, son of the late Frank and Emma (Framke) Riehle. On October 16, 1939 he married Theresa Kulas at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. They celebrated 65 years of marriage. Prior to his retirement, Charles was a dairy farmer in the town of Rietbrock and had also been employed as a welder at Wausau Iron Works. Among his favorite things to do were, fishing, watching Westerns on TV, bike riding and long drives in the car with Theresa. Throughout his life, Charles had a great devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Survivors include his wife, Theresa Riehle, Wausau, daughters, Elaine (Joe) Bunczak, Rosholt, Evelyn (Michael) Nienhuis, Wausau, Wendy Stresau, Austin, Tex., sons, Charles (Grace) Riehle Jr., Edgar, Chester Riehle, Athens, 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, sisters, Margaret Ramminger, Waukesha, Clara (Chester) Pernsteiner, Loyal, Alice (Dean) Condoff, Crystal River, Fla., brother, Damon (Donna) Riehle, New Berlin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer, Matthew, George and Hank Riehle. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Weds. February 2, 2005 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. Rev. Charles Hiebl and Rev. Stephen Gross will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue and again on Weds. from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Stewart Avenue funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the entire staff of Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care given to Charles during his time with them.
