Charles S. Lackey

Charles S. "Chuck" Lackey 67, Wausau, died Thursday August 19, 2010 of cancer at his home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Mary. He was born September 4, 1942, in Davenport, Iowa, son of the late Clyde and Stella (Blascovich) Lackey. Growing up in Peoria, Illinois, Chuck attended Richwoods High School and was an avid baseball and basket ball player. Graduating with a degree in business from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, he held various jobs as an export manager and sales manager in the meat casing industry. Recently, he sold supplemental health care and long term health care for Physicians Mutual Insurance Company. During his life, he loved to play Bridge and golf and take an occasional trip to Bowler. He was also an avid sports fan with remote in hand! Chuck was a man of great integrity and wit, who deeply loved his family. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lackey, Wausau; daughter, Christa Deane and grandson, Clyde Bloomingdale, Tahoma, Calif., daughter, Jennifer Lackey, Portland, Ore., sister, Cinda Zant, niece, Caitlin Zant, Peoria, Ill., Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Friday August 27, 2010 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Christa Deane will officiate. Friends may call on Friday from 5:30 p.m.until the time of services at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
