Charles Corbin
82, Schofield, died Monday, January 7, 2008 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
He was born February 20, 1925 in Milwaukee, son of the late William and Martha (Kiener) Corbin. Charles grew up in Pittsville, Wis., where his parents owned and operated a grocery store. On June 18, 1947, he married Jeanne Cone at First Presbyterian Church, Wausau. She survives.
Charles was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp., serving in the South Pacific and China during World War II. He was District Manager for the Hoover Company, where he retired in 1979. Among his many interests, he enjoyed spending summers at their home on Clear Lake in Tomahawk and winters in their condo on the beach in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida.
Survivors include, his wife, Jeanne Corbin, Schofield; four children, Mike (Reisa) Corbin, Huntington Woods, Mich., Tom (Jody) Corbin, Woodbury, Minn,. Kent (MaryAnn) Corbin, Oakdale, Minn. and Patricia Corbin, Wausau; four grandchildren, Christopher (Maggie) Corbin, Hoboken, N.J., Matthew Corbin, Phoenix, Ariz., Nathan (Jennie) Corbin, Woodbury, Minn. and Ashley Herman, Woodbury, Minn.; one great-granddaughter, Kellijean Corbin, Woodbury, Minn.; and one sister, Marlene Sisinni, Woodbury, Minn.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Corbin.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church, Wausau. Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
