Charles B. Canada, 81, 2114 Clarberth Street, Schofield, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
Charles was born April 6, 1921 in Marion, Kentucky, son of the late Alfred and Ada (Hodges) Canada. He married Opal Harnice in Chicago, Illinois. She preceded him in death in July 1981. He married Dorothy Schilling October 9, 1982 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Callon. She survives.
Charles was an auto body repairman and owned and operated Chuck's Auto Sales & Service in Woodruff for eight years. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Montgomery Plant Post #10, Wausau and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #8895, Schofield. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and playing poker with his friends.
Besides his wife, Dorothy, Schofield, he is survived by four sons, Roy W. (Val) Watson, Palos Heights, Illinois, James D. ( Mary Jo) Watson, North Carolina, Wayne (Deb) Canada, Weston, Wayne (Bernie) Schilling, Ringle; five daughters, Phyllis Rollins, Elgin, Illinois, Tanya (Lee) Meek, Florida, Debra (David) Johnson, Schofield, Lynn (Todd) Warner, Mosinee, Lori (Jim) Giordana, Florida; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; one brother, Lee (Jean) Canada, Florida.
Besides his first wife, Opal and his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Watson; one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2002 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. The Rev. Robert Weise will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, where full Military Honors will be conducted. Friends may call from 4-7p.m., Thursday and again from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of services all at the Sixth Street Funeral Home.
