Charles W. Baumann
79, 3006 McIntosh Street, Wausau died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Weston.
He was born July 9, 1929 in Wausau, son of the late Alex and Adelia (Kopf) Baumann Sr. On September 9, 1953 he married Betty Jane Wadzinski in Wausau. She survives.
Prior to his retirement Charles was engaged in the farming profession, a hard working trade in which he took great pride in. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Wausau.
Charles proudly served his country during the Korean War from 1951 until 1953 as a Sergeant in the Army Artillery.
Survivors include his wife Betty Jane Baumann, Wausau, his children, Ann (Michael) Johnson, Shoreview, Minnesota, Diana (Paul) Hase and Allan (Darsi) Baumann, both of Wausau, his grandchildren, Amanda, Thomas, Sara, Jacob, Jenna, Raelena, Mitch, Max, Myles and Mason, two sisters, Irma (Alvin) Wilde, Wausau and Carol (Ronald) Niziolek, Elk River, Minnesota, two sisters-in-law Doris Baumann, Weston and Bernie Baumann, Wausau along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Adelia Jackson and his two brothers, Alex Jr. and Ubald Baumann.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. The Rev. Gerald Pehler O.F.M. Cap. will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Church.
